Something in another thread made me think about the end of Ryzom and what the community will do next.

My case is for moving on, which admittedly is easy for me since I moved on a long time ago. My reasoning for the last few survivors to move on is that there can't be that many people still active and it would be better to bolster the playerbase of a new and original game so that it doesn't meet the same fate (at least not for a while anyway).

I think every game has an initial hype phase followed by launch when a lot of people play. If it has a critical population mass then the community will continue to expand and the game will flourish (assuming it isn't buggy as hell). If the subs aren't coming in then it's going to be dead within a year, or worse kept on a life-support machine like a few Sony titles.

Moving on means getting your friends and guild to follow this game with a plan to moving over at launch, to show Sibilant that they have a serious English-speaking fanbase.

I'm sure a lot of you believe, like me, that the community makes the game. So who wants to 'make' a new game?

Well.. first we have to make sure that the king IS dead... If the king is simply comatose and there is a chance of his coming back to life I'd echo Ffionnys... If there is indeed no hope for our beloved Ryzom I see no other option but to do as Boinged proposes.

I'd love to play both but before they went bankrupt this last time my credit card had expired that I was paying for the game with and I let it go for a couple of months to take a break and they quit letting people re-sub, so basically I was "made" to move on. And from what I've been reading on the MMORPG.com forums Ryzom was shut down or is very close to being shut down. If i'm worong on this please enlighten me.

Basically: If Ryzom lives again, I will be there. But since I will be wanting to try WELL out whether or not Ryzom lives or dies, there is no choosing involved, hence no need to cast a vote based on the criteria above since, in either case, i want to play both.
