Here's the first Dev interview that we bring here for your attention translated by Komissar.
Interviewer - Egor Prosvirnin
Answering - Alexandr Brajnik (project PR Director)
- My first question is who is the project aimed at? Will a grown-up person be able to spend only 1 hour or so a day and not be a perpertual noob?
- Our project is aimed at mass audience. The lvling will go very fast. Moreover it will be possible to set somу automatic (offline) skill advancement routes. It’ll be slower of course but it will be automatic.
- Like in Eve?
— Yes but a bit different. Not all skills will it be possible to lvl remotely and the speed of offline lvling will be slower and also different for different skills. However it will even be possible to keep track of offline lvling through our webpage, WAP and even SMS…
- So there will also be mobile service?
- Yes. It will be possible to drop by for a couple of minutes, see the lvling results, change the course. The lvling itself will be very fast, we are not going to bore people with a eternal grind. An experienced player will be able to lvl his char enough from 4 days to 1,5 weeks depending on the initial stats. An unexperienced player will spend 2-4 weeks for the same result.
- How player-friendly will the game be? Will it have a tender WoW player care or a harsh Lineage 2 law system?
- Well if you put it that way we’re more like WoW. First of all there’s a whole chain of starter quests for the newbies. Secondly the game is full of organizations very interested in new recruits. Every organization will have player-mentors also players that can only progress further by helping new recruits.
- So does it mean that the players will really have to help each other?
— Well yes. The game system is made in such a way that players will actually profit from helping other players and will be really interested in each other. We are doing our best to create a friendly atmosphere for our players.
- And how about PvP?
— You can kill anyone. But.. if it’s just senseless bloodshed not connected with the “proper’ organizations then the Pk will be immediately cought and sent to the penal servitude where they will have to spend some time moving boulders and that will not be possible to do offline. We think it will keep the senseless killings at a safe minimum. Usually if you have been killed in game it only means that someone has ordered to kill you through mafia structures.
- What will the player do after lvling is over? What is the end-game content to keep him in game?
— First of all it’s the hunt for rare equipment (for warriors) and rare spells (for mages). Equipment really influences theplayer stats and can be damaged very easily. Equipment can also be lost when the player dies. Most special equipment looks incredibly nice too. For mages it will take a long time to find some specific spells but then againtheir magic will really be unique. I am pretty sure that we won’t see a mage with the full arsenal of rare spells anytime sooner than in a year. Apart from that there are also organizations and daily activities inside them that I could tell you for hours on end about.
- And what will this “year old” mage do after he got all spells?
— There are many things you can involve youself in ingame – join a religious cult and fight for or preach for its ideals, you can devote your life to catching tjieves and bandits and fighting the mafia. You can enlist into the army and go fight the enemy state at the borderlands. Or you can be a trader, or a head of a manufacturing corporation even.
- There is actually a game plot set for 3 years? What is it like? How will it develop?
- Unfortunately I can not say anything about this right now. This should remain a mystery for some time. The development of the game plot will depend totally on the players. For example they can shift the borders of the states having successful military campaigns.
- Can a state be destroyed in the course of a successful enemy military campaign?
- Theoretically yes but it’s highly unlikely. There is a self-regulating system. If a state starts losing the war, it’s NPC rulers will implement new means of restoring the balance, including raising the rewards for military service.
- How experienced is your crew for a project like this?
- We have over 50 specialists in our crew and they have been working on quite a few other projects before. All in all th crew works as a single body where older and more professional devs share the experience and younger specialists share their energy and creative ideas. .
- How will the game distribution work? What about the addons? How much will a player have to pay for play?
- There will be a free client download, all addons will also become available in the net once they come out. The monthly fee will be approximately 10 USD. We are still thinking of implementing certain Commercial aspects to make the fee even lower.
- Thanks a lot for the interview, we hope the project will be a great success!
