One of the most exciting aspects of the game that I am looking forward to is the In-game television. There will be latge screens placed on the streets in the cities and smaller ones in player apartments and guild halls. These screens will broadcast In-game Commercials - fromcorporations, police, army , reliogions and even criminal syndicates (maybe IRL commercials aswell who knows) and all sorts of In-game news - researches, discoveries, guild relations, politics religious collisions etc etc etc. The telivision will be run by a corporation based on a network of npcs+quests but actually consisting of real players as reporters and movie-makers! This sounds soo much fun  Helluva work for Beau - The Atys reporter  edit: I just learned that television will also have live broadcasts from tournaments |

This sounds great! The more I real about this, the more I feel this game is going to be so incredible dynamic, player influenced and immersive. And I second the comments about Beau! |

I wonder if it will be able to have commercials. Like, guild advertisements for recruitment, or a mercenary guild offereing their services, ect. This would open up so many opportunites and depth in the game. Oh wow, now I'm really excited about this!

yes in fact it was specifically stated that you will be able to put in corporation (guild) commercials!
Naturally it will cost you...

BTW the Real world\'s commercials will cost you real money (for example if you want to place an announcement of a Magazine or Juice...)
But the ingame commercials (such as \"Buy my staff\'s and other stuff!!!\") will be for the ingame money. that\'s really great.

This could be a good way to fund the game but it will be weird if we start seeing ads for Coca Cola on this alien planet. I hope they keep the RL ads out of it. Guild and RP ads will be great - we can even invent some products.
I wonder how these TV screens will fit in with the theme of the world. It's weird, when I read about the game a lot seems like it would fit well in a futuristic city-based setting whereas the theme from videos and art looks to be fantasy. I like the mix of sci-fi and fantasy styles but are we going to be seeing a TV set inside a tree?

I think having RL commercials in-game would result in HOOOGE amounts of cash for the game.
Then again it might get in the way of gameplay, but I would willingly give up a minute of my life for a Tide to-go Commercial and keep on playing.
