I had a speaking with the PR manager of Sibilant about english part of official forum. He said, that it's exist but hidden, because they need two moderators. There was an agreement (btw not only one) about this with komissar, but he disappear now. So it would be very well, if he or Forum admin contacts me or him. =) Because this forum rather is dead than is living.

I agree, not looking too lively here... But it's a bit of a double-edged sword... no international forum = no interest from outside Russia, and vice-versa: with no interest from outside Russia, there's no use for an international forum. I guess the only way to get past this is to make the International forum open and friendly (ie, not covered in Cyrillic writing) and then ADVERTISE IT TO THE WORLD!!! All the important posts and updates need to be there in both Russian and English though, otherwise WELL will stay pretty much a Russian MMO. I, for one, would be very sad of WELL didn't grab the world's attention and become one of the best MMO's out there!! Miss

I guess the only way to get past this is to make the International forum open and friendly (ie, not covered in Cyrillic writing) and then ADVERTISE IT TO THE WORLD!!! The thing is that devs don't plan to do specially english forum. At least not before they will open international servers. They made english part in the rus forum as yet. But they think, that russian fans will be flood very much in this part =) So they need two moderators. They can't do it themselves now. And they wait for someone agrees to become the moderator. The english part will be hidden to this moment. ps sorrry for my eng =)

Is it possible to prevent certain character sets in a forum? That would help keep the forum in English perhaps?
I could possibly volunteer as a moderator... but I can't navigate the current English part of the forum properly because of all the Russian language used. I'm sure being able to read/speak Russian would be a distinct advantage.
NOTE: I have never been a moderator of anything before, so I'm not qualified... :-)
Cheers Miss

So how do we let them know we have a few people willing to try 'n be moderators? between me, missy, and a couple others i've seen - we have at least 2 people willing to moderate an english forum. i speak two languages fluently - afraid the second one will be useless though!

Ooo, NB, what other language??
I can speak another language too, at around a 10 year old's level though... Mine is also pretty useless unless your in Holland... yes, it's Dutch. :-)

So how do we let them know we have a few people willing to try 'n be moderators? At first it's necessary to be registered on the forum. There must be english registrarion for non-Russian IP. Then somebody (better if komissar or i) must write to forum admin and he will give the status. but i hoped that komissar will appear first. Do you know anything about him? btw i don't know indeed is there information now or not =( i think, it is. but even it's not, i think many people will help with translation (for official forum=)

lol missy i guess you could say lebanese is a dialect of arabic? kinda like how in the south ppl speak different from the north (in the States that is..) - and even though most of the "middle east" speaks "arabic" its not all the same (unless you speak the "official" arabic - which is just pushign it for me ) so the different groups can understand each other fine, its just somewhat painful with a few words that differ -a lot- *grins* see you all in "intro to arabic 101" next time >.>

I created an account on the main site. Hopefully they will open the English forums. I don't mind reading converted text to english, as after learning what a horrible language it is, I feel for the people trying to convert from their native tongues to this mish-mash of nonsense rules. As for Russian, I can only read and speak at about a 2nd grade level, and not good at that either. I need to get back into learning Russian again.

Well anyways Komi is back in Force Lots of new updates for ya. As for the Original Post - The pR manager received the names of moderators from me immediately when he asked - that was back in October... Already then we had 2 applicants. I also offered to make a section at MMORPG.com (i have discussed it and agreed everything with their editor) and asked PR manager for a few screenies and a bit of official info... He said yes yes sure... As a result we have no forums and no MMORPG .com section and I have received nothing but promises from them. Then I had a lot of workand abandoned this forum for a while alas Guess it's time to bang my head on their door again now P/S welcome to all sweet new members - lovely Atysians and all others are very very welcome here
